Mexican Microfinance Bank Compartamos to pay Dividend by June end

Microfinance Focus, May 27, 2010: Banco Compartamos, S.A., Institución de Banca Múltiple, announced that at the Annual Ordinary Shareholders’ meeting, which took place on April 19, 2010, shareholders approved a cash dividend in the amount of Ps. 374,036,108.40 (three hundred seventy four million thirty six thousand one hundred eight pesos and forty cents, Mex.Cy.), or Ps. 0.90 (ninety cents of one peso, Mex.Cy.) per outstanding share, for all shareholders, prior to June 30, 2010, via S.D. Indeval S.A. de C.V., Institución para el Depósito de Valores. As a result, the payment will be made on June 29, 2010 to all shareholders.

Banco Compartamos, S.A., a Mexican bank specialized in microfinance is the largest lender to micro-business owners in Latin America. Established in 1990 and headquartered in Mexico City, Compartamos provides small loans to low-income Mexican individuals and business owners, such as craft manufacturers, food vendors and other small businesses. With coverage in over 90% of Mexico, Compartamos works with local and international lenders to secure financing to these market segments, which are currently underserved. Banco Compartamos shares began trading on the Mexican Stock Exchange on April 25, 2007 under the ticker symbol “COMPART”.
