responsAbility Loans $20 Million to UT Bank Ghana Limited

Microfinance Focus Europe, 13 September 2013: ResponsAbility Social Investments loaned $20 million to UT Bank Ghana Limited. The loan will go toward the support of SMEs.

UT Bank has 26 branches. It has approximately 680 employees and holds assets of GHS 992 million ($499 million). As of 2009, UT Bank had return on asset (ROA) of 2.4 percent and return on equity (ROE) of 34 percent. As of August 2013, it reported assets of approximately $1.6 billion.

responsAbility Social Investments was founded in 2003. It is a Swiss investment company. As of August, it reported total assets under management of approximately $1.4 billion.
