Microfinance Focus, December 19, 2011: In an interview with The Times, Virgin Group Ltd. Chairman Richard Branson said that he might set up a fund to make small loans to entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom.

The fund would be similar to so-called microfinance funds operating in India and Africa, Branson told Times.

For reducing unemployment in the United Kingdom, Branson recommended employees working fewer hours and sharing their jobs and said that he will discuss his proposals with Prime Minister David Cameron.
