The delegation visited Grameen Bank’s Joymondop Singair branch to learn more on the practical sides and its implementation process. Professor Yunus accompanied the delegation to the field. Later the delegation had discussions with Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and exchanged views on poverty reduction and social businesses for development.
The delegation also included Ms. Wang Ping, Founder and Chairperson of YouChange and Mr. Wu Zhong, Director General of IPRCC, China.
Grameen Bank’s founder Muhammad Yunus’s vision is the total eradication of poverty from the world. ‘Grameen’, he claims, ‘is a message of hope, a programme for putting homelessness and destitution in a museum so that one day our children will visit it and ask how we could have allowed such a terrible thing to go on for so long’.
