Microfinance Focus, August 18, 2011: The Microfinance India Awards 2011 have opened up nominations to recognise institutions and individuals who have made significant contributions towards the microfinance sector in India.

The Awards will be presented on the inaugural day of the Microfinance India Summit – December 12-13, 2011 at the Hotel Ashok, New Delhi.

As a part of its Microfinance India initiatives, ACCESS Development Services with the support of The Hongkong And Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, India instituted the Microfinance India Awards in 2009.

Award categories include ‘MFI of the Year 2011’, ‘Contribution to the sector 2011’ and ‘Contribution to the sector by enabling institutions’. The deadline for receiving completed nomination forms is August 31, 2011.

The Awards’ Jury panel will be chaired by Ms. Naina Lal Kidwai, Group General Manager and Country Head, HSBC India and Mr. Brij Mohan, Chairman, ACCESS Development Services.
