Fazle Abed to present BRAC’s action plan at Global Microcredit Summit

Microfinance Focus, October 22, 2011: Sir Fazle Abed, Founder and Chairperson of BRAC, world’s largest development organization will present BRAC’s Institutional Action Plan in Plenary at the Global Microcredit Summit to be held November 14-17, 2011 in Valladolid, Spain.
Sir Abed will also reflect on the state of microfinance globally. In February 2010, Abed was Knighted by the British crown in recognition of his services to reducing poverty in Bangladesh and internationally. In addition to its groundbreaking work in Bangladesh, BRAC is active in Afghanistan, Haiti, Liberia, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Southern Sudan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Queen Sofia of Spain, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus of Grameen Bank and Danone CEO Franck Riboud along with other experts will be speaking during the Summit.
