Convergences 2015 World Forum to be held in Paris

Microfinance Focus, January 6, 2012: The 5th edition of Convergences 2015 World Forum for the Millennium Development Goals will be held in Paris from September 19, 20 and 21 September, 2012. Microfinance Focus is a media partner for the Forum.
The Forum will bring together over 3,000 experts and international policy-makers from more than 50 countries to join forces and address the social and environmental challenges facing the world today.
More than 300 speakers and international experts will reflect on issues including Social and Solidarity based Economy, Environment and Development, International Cooperation, Social Business & BoP, Social Entrepreneurship and Microfinance.
During the Forum, a general public day will be held at the Paris City Hall which will be marked by debates with Le Monde newspaper and prestigious panellists.
Convergences 2015 Awards Ceremony will be held and the 2nd edition of the Barometer of Social Entrepreneurship and other publications will be launched during the general public day.
This year, the Forum will focus on the role of European policies for development aid, microfinance, and social entrepreneurship, Technological and Social Innovations and Advantages and limits of Cooperatives (2012 being the International Year of Cooperatives).
The Forum is organized by ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development), Credit Cooperatif and MAIRIE DE PARIS.
