‘Asia Microfinance Forum 2010’ will be held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The event gathers over 450 industry experts, investors, leading microfinance practitioners, policymakers, academics and advocates from no less than 50 countries. The backdrop to the conference is the relative strength and unprecedented surge in microfinance growth in Asia, despite the challenges of the recent financial crisis witnessed by the industries. Hence this year’s theme “ Financial Inclusion: Achieving Asia’s Potential”.
Convened by the Banking With the Poor Network and in collaboration with the organiser, Foundation for Development Cooperation, the conference comes in response to greater needs for financial inclusion that is dependent upon increasing the capacity of the microfinance sector to provide innovative, well-structured and appropriate services for future scale up across all countries.
